The Picture of Dorian Gray is the only novel written by poet, playwright, and would-be social media influencer Oscar Wilde. Gray has it all: love in its many forms, murder most foul, witty repartee, high style, sordid opium dens. At the center of the action, the stunningly handsome main character--the eponymous Dorian Gray--makes a Faustian bargain that turns out to be not such a great deal.
Wilde's novel is loaded with his signature bon mots (fun!) and waay too much blather about art for art's sake--so much less fun. One thing's for certain, if you're feeling bad about your aging appearance, this book will make you feel a whole lot better.
